Players in Meta’s ‘Among Us VR’ Literally Point Fingers at Accused Imposters
Shifting the game’s worldview to a first-person perspective.
Meta’s latest Quest gaming showcase previewed a slew of new and previously released games being adapted for Virtual Reality. Among other titles, the showcase offered a closer look at the VR version of the hit game Among Us.
Initially released in 2018, the forthcoming VR version pits players in a first-person perspective, rather than a top-down point of view. This means that they won’t be able to see imposters running up behind them. Other core tenets of the game, such as completing various tasks, will remain the same.
Players in Among Us VR will still assume the role of either a crewmate or an imposter and the game has up to ten players at a time. When it comes time to accuse suspicious crewmates, players will literally point virtual fingers at one another.
While an exact date hasn’t been announced, Among Us VR will debut sometime this holiday season. It’ll be available for Meta Quest 2, Rift, Steam VR and PlayStation VR.
In other gaming news, a Ghostbusters Virtual Reality game is coming to Meta Quest 2.
