Giorgio Armani’s Earth Day Initiative Presents a Call to Action With Its “Armani/Values” Launch
It centers on three pillars of progress: people, planet and prosperity.
Narration and storytelling have always been a part of Giorgio Armani’s brand ethos, captured on his high-fashion runways and in sleek campaign imagery. This spring, the brand has launched its Armani/Values website in celebration of Earth Day, highlighting the ethical, sustainable and green approaches the company has instituted – from past to present.
Armani’s tentpole for “Values” is centered on three focal points: people, planet and prosperity, and the newly dedicated website summarizes and explains all of the resources that the Armani Group draws on to make it a responsible corporation. Its ‘People’ section emphasizes individual wellbeing along with an inclusive and diversified workplace for its employees. The ‘Planet’ section aims to shape a more sustainable and safer world supported by the Armani Group’s supply chain monitoring, materials selections, reforestation and biodiversity conservation. The ‘Prosperity’ section highlights community and brings together all of the brand’s projects – locally and globally – to further develop charitable initiatives, research support, and promote the next generation of creatives.
Commenting on the importance of the site launch, brand founder Giorgio Armani says: “I have always cared about people and community, in the conviction that a company must not only receive but give back too. And that also applies to our planet, which we must take care of.”
“I think that fashion can contribute to the ongoing transformation in many ways, and that is my commitment. Values matter and for me, they are absolutely fundamental. With this website, I wish to share an essential and imperative duty: an invitation for all of us to build a more responsible system,” he added.
More information on the Armani/Values outline can be found on its dedicated website.
