Football Meets Design in New Immersive Exhibition
On view at London’s Design Museum until August 29.

Football fan or not, the beautiful game has a special place in the world of culture that far transcends just the realm of sport. For over 120 years, clubs have become a marker of identity for droves of people and design has played an instrumental role in shaping this fandom.
London’s Design Museum worked with the National Football Museum in Manchester to present the first major exhibition that explores the story behind football and its symbiotic relationship to the world of design. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in over 500 objects, films, stadium designs, kits and sporting moments that recount the legend of players such as Lionel Messi, Pelé, George Best, Diego Maradona and more.
From architecture and graphic design, to photography, boots and fashion, the exhibition provides an impressive curation that The Times Ed Potton states “captures the thrills, pain and zeal of a game that grips us in our billions.”
“Football: Designing the Beautiful Game” recently opened in London and will be on view at the Design Museum until August 29, 2022.
On the topic of football, HYPEBEAST recently unearthed the history behind El Clásico.
