Latest 'Peacemaker' Featurette Details His New Best Friend Vigilante's Origins

John Cena‘s Peacemaker is getting a new best friend in his own upcoming HBO Max show, and now Warner Bros. has released a new featurette detailing exactly who this “BFF” is.

Going by the name of Vigilante and portrayed by Freddie Stroma, the new misfit considers himself to be Peacemaker’s best friend, although his sentiments aren’t exactly reciprocated. “He thinks of Peacemaker as his BFF,” explains director James Gunn, but “Peacemaker is pessimistic about maybe even having friends,” Cena adds. “And Vigilante is just gung-ho about having a best friend.”

During the day, “Vigilante is a busboy in a restaurant,” the lead actor said. “But by night, he’s trained and transformed himself into a crusader for justice.” The video also showcases how the two characters have very similar beliefs, but that Cena’s new companion may take things a little too far even for Peacemaker himself.
