After 11 Years, 'Dragon Ball Z Abridged' Has Come to an Abrupt End
Team Four Star says goodbye to its fans.
Shocking its fans, YouTube channel Team Four Star has brought an abrupt end to its iconic Dragon Ball Z Abridged series. Originally started in 2008, the series which cuts up episodes of Dragon Ball Z and puts them back together in fun reimaginations filled with jokes is now finished. For the last 12 years, the DBZA parody series has helped pioneer content on YouTube and paved the way for Internet comedy as we know it.
Despite being expected to deliver its take on the final Buu saga arc, Team Four Star came to its decision after spending some time away after the completion of its Cell saga. In a goodbye video and public Patreon post, creators Lanipator, Takahata101, and Kaiserneko note that their hearts weren’t in it anymore.
The burned-out team also notes the threat of the current copyright-claim era of YouTube. The current state of the site poses threats to Team Four Star that has created the risk of losing the channel. With employees to look out for, the channel behind Dragon Ball Z Abridged will now focus on creating original content that continues their creative outlook.
