Phillips Auctions in association with Bacs and Russo are gearing for another big New York watch auction titled RACING PULSE. One of the key components of this auction is the special sale of five wristwatches from Sylvester Stallone‘s personal collection.

Paul Boutros, Head of Watches, Phillips Americas, comments: “Sylvester Stallone has been a household name for decades due to his iconic roles in films that have skyrocketed to the status of cultural phenomena. Most people, however, may
not know that, in addition to his world-renowned talents as an actor, writer and director, he is also a long-time watch collector. Acquiring pieces with a keen eye, he recognizes the watchmaking excellence of Richard Mille, and is widely recognized for having singlehandedly launched the popularity of Panerai around the world with this very Panerai Luminor watch we are offering. Over several decades, he has assembled a truly remarkable collection by some of the most important watchmakers of our day. It is our honor to work with Mr. Stallone in offering these five watches to our clients who will recognize the importance of these timepieces.”

First up is the special Panerai PAM5218-201/a (estimate: $40,000 to $80,000 USD) in steel worn in the 1996 film Daylight. The movie tremendously helped in catapulting the Panerai name to the masses, making this watch an instant icon. Along with its original box, this watch also comes with two additional Panerai Pre-Vendome straps with buckles and its original brass screwdriver. There’s also a handwritten and signed note from Stallone.

The next four watches are all from Richard Mille. Both the Richard Mille RM032-TI (estimate $60,000 to $120,000 USD) and the Richard Mille RM025-01 Tourbillon Chronograph Adventure (estimate: $250,000 to $500,000 USD) have interesting stories deeply tied to Stallone, the former be worn in The Expendables 3 while that later was actually born from a conversation between Sylvester Stallone and Richard Mille, asking the question — “what watch would John Rambo wear?”

The remaining two is a 1/30 Richard Mille RM052-01 Tourbillon Skull TZP Nano-Ceramic (estimate: $350,000 to $700,000 USD) and a 1/50 Richard Mille RM059-01 Yohan Blake “Beast” Tourbillon (estimate: $300,000 to $600,000 USD).

On top of the sale of Sylvester Stallone’s personal watches, Panerai will be working with the auction house to offer for sale one of its 70 Luminor LAB-ID (PAM1700). This watch celebrates the Luminor’s 70th anniversary and features a new Super-Luminova X-1 material. It’s also backed by an impressive 70-year warranty.

Head over to Phillips to view the entire lot and all of its details.
