Gunshots Fired in Austin During SXSW
The suspect was “captured” and no injuries were reported.
Drama ensued in Austin, TX early Sunday morning. According to the Austin Police, a person was taken into custody early Sunday after he fired gunshots into the air at the South by Southwest Festival in downtown Austin, TX. The police recovered a gun at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Trinity Street near Trinity Hall at Old School Bar & Grill, where Austin-based rock collective Hour Band was playing a free SXSW show. No injuries were reported, according to a tweet from the Austin Police Department. While the film/music/tech festival, still attracted large crowds downtown Saturday night into Sunday, the gunshots sent a swarm of people running from the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Trinity Street, witnesses said.
