A few months ago, British menswear designer Neil Barrett unveiled a range of skiwear, substantiating streetwear’s love affair with cold-weather athleisure and current trends’ emphasis on high-performance gear. In a recent SSENSE editorial titled “20 Below Zero,” photographer Lukas Wassmann captures Neil Barrett’s Spring/Summer 2017 ski collection in action, giving a glimpse of how “high-performance gear becomes a matter of hedonism rather than practicality.” Set against the powdery slopes of St. Moritz, Neil Barrett’s signature lighting bolt graphic and oversized fits are styled alongside other on-piste garments and aprés-ski pieces.
