Loewe's 2017 Fall/Winter Collection Lookbook Is About Youthful Anarchy
Utility wear with a subversive bent.
Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe has just released its Fall/Winter 2017 collection, which features adventurous reinterpretations of menswear archetypes and the theme of youthful anarchy. We see utility wear with a subversive bent, garments created from advanced technical experimentation, meticulous custom detailing and pieces signed with propaganda-inspired iconography. The result is a collection that shows how “the modern dichotomy between post-industrial collage and total individuality creates a state of hysteria.” The collection lookbook brings us inside an idealized factory where bold colors manifest in the form of a double-breasted overcoat in powder blue, as well as a rainbow iteration made from a dozen vibrant leather panels sewn together. Classic Loewe garments such as fisherman trousers and the signature asymmetric shirt are revisited by new fabrics and treatments, while mismatched and superimposed tartans and layered appliqués appear on other striking pieces.
