Apple Currently Working on Fix for Lightning EarPods Remote Control Issue
Don’t worry a fix is in the works.
On Monday, Apple acknowledged consumer complaints of a malfunction that occurs with the Lightning EarPods issued with every iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus model. According to social media accounts, the malfunction is sporadic and occurs after a period of inactivity, which renders the multifunctional remote control useless. Although all iPhone functions are unaffected, users are unable to adjust volume, start or end calls, and access Siri with the multifunctional remote. Apple noted in its press release that a fix was on its way and would come in the form of a software update, in addition to defending their removal of a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack to make room for its advanced Taptic Engine, larger battery, upgraded camera and development of a waterproof chassis.
