The aesthetic of the notoriously durable and rugged boot has been reworked by many designers over the years, but for Fall 2016, the Dr. Martens has introduced new lightweight technology creating an easy-to-wear styles for the next generation of its fans.

Few footwear brands have cemented a place in cultural history the way Dr. Martens has. Through its 100-year lineage, the British manufacturer’s reputation has evolved from functional military boot, to cult status in the creative worlds of music, art and fashion. The aesthetic of the notoriously durable and rugged boot has been reworked by many designers over the years, but for Fall 2016, the Dr. Martens has introduced new lightweight technology creating an easy-to-wear styles for the next generation of its fans.

The newly released DM’s Lite Collection maintains the iconic style of Dr. Martens boots and shoes, but reduces weight and increases cushion to create comfortable silhouettes with an already-broken-in feel. The new styles, named the Newton boot and the Cavendish shoe have a lightweight rubber outsole, a Softwair memory foam insole with moisture-wicking technology but still maintain signature details like heel loops, and yellow stitching. From a color and material perspective, the boots and shoes are available in classic Dr. Martens black and cherry red and are constructed with Temperly leather.
