Koenigsegg Officially Unveils Its Agera XS Ahead of Monterey
The Swedish supercar manufacturer takes the wraps off of a road-legal Agera RS.
As incredible as the Agera RS may be, Koenigsegg’s 1,160 horsepower hypercar is, as you might expect, not exactly safe for road use. Thankfully, however, the Swedish manufacturer is fixing that: behold the brand new Agera XS.
More or less a road-legal rendition of the renowned RS, the XS version of the Agera comes decked out in a bold “Karosserie Orange” diamond-dusted metallic with carbon fiber applications throughout — most notably on the XS’s massive rear wing, which is the largest-ever to appear on a Koenigsegg. Inside, black alcantara and orange trim match the vehicle’s exterior while the likes of Apple CarPlay, smart airbags and a hydraulic lifting system — none of which appeared on the RS — are all employed here. Fans will be happiest to know, however, that though road-legal, the XS doesn’t pale in comparison to its track-ready counterpart: the RS’s 1,160-horsepower 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 once again appears under the hood, as does the vehicles seven-speed paddle shift transmission.
The Agera XS is set to make its public debut at Monterey Car Week, which kicked off yesterday and runs through August 21.
