Athletes around the world are getting ready for this year’s Olympics, set in Rio from early August to mid-September. While the Brazilian city will see an onslaught of fans attend the games, one thing that many fans don’t see is the endless preparation beforehand that goes into the hopes of winning the highly respected gold medal. With that in mind, Dick’s Sporting Goods in collaboration with agency Anomaly NY present the director’s cut for “The Contenders.” Spending over 40 hours a week performing drills to get that perfect run stride, make precise flips or pull off a clean shot put — hard work and dedication are only a few necessary characteristics these athletes possess, and the inspiring video clues us in on how they study and gear up for the Olympic test of athleticism.
