Teenager Wins $250,000 USD at the First World Drone Prix in Dubai

Drone racing has quickly gained popularity in the last year but the introduction of professional events backed by large sums of money will likely attract a much larger crowd in the near future. Arguably one of the biggest races to date is Dubai’s World Drone Prix, an event with a prize pool of $1 million USD and 150 teams from across the globe. Yesterday’s final saw 15-year-old Luke Bannister and his Tornado X-Blades Banni-UK team beat out the Dubai Dronetek crew in a thrilling final in front of 2,000 spectators.
