From The Berrics and Eric Koston comes the Colin Kennedy-directed documentary The L.A. Boys. Exploring the year of 1989, when skateboarding was transitioning from the pools and ramps to raw street skating, the film focuses its attention on four teenagers: Gabriel Rodriguez, Paulo Diaz, Rudy Johnson and Guy Mariano. After a chance encounter with the Bones Brigade mastermind, the legendary Stacy Peralta, the four youngsters landed what would become one of the most influential skateboarding segments ever in Peralta’s “Ban This” video. The L.A. Boys retells this story, including the events that led up to the ground-breaking part as well as testimonies from skateboarding legends like Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, and many more.
The L.A. Boys will be available on December 27 via iTunes.
