'Shadow Moses' Is the Next-Gen 'Metal Gear Solid' Remake You Didn't Know You Needed
Solid Snake is back, kind of.
It’s been less than a year since Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima left his longtime employer at Konami, and fans have been clamoring for more from the hallowed franchise ever since. The thirst for Solid Snake is so real, in fact, that a team of die-hard fans have updated Kojima’s 1998 original opus with next-gen, Unreal Engine 4 graphics, so that fans can enjoy the classic game as never before. Enter: Shadow Moses.
Unfortunately, Konami are stringent with their intellectual property and copyright holdings, and have shut down other fan-made reboots in the past. Shadow Moses will eventually require the video game company’s full permission sooner or later, but until then they have decided to publicly share the game’s development process in order to deal with issues as they arise. Hence the “coming soon” tagline.
