McLaren Automative’s design director Frank Stephenson is the creative mind behind the legendary P1 model and is perhaps one of the most influential car designers of our generation. Blackbird Automotive recently caught up with Frank to discuss what the future of automobiles looks like to him through an aptly titled video, “TEN YEARS LATER.” From hydrogen-powered engines and nuclear fusion energy, to laser headlights and an instantaneous paint change to mimc the abilities of a chameleon, it is incredible to see perceive the industry with the insight of a powerhouse such as Frank. Along with an almost uncanny sense of foresight, the McLaren director expresses his distaste for other designers who have conveyed that they believe automobile innovation has plateaued.
