Ducati 860 GTS Cafe Racer by 6/5/4 Motors
Stockholm is the background to a burgeoning moto-surf culture, represented by this restored Ducati.
Snowy Stockholm may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking of motorcycle and surf culture, but 6/5/4 Motors manages to convince us of that with this photoset of its custom vintage Ducati 860 GTS cafe racer. A mid-’70s motorbike found in a barn struck the 6/5/4 team with its alien V-twin design, its iconic tank and flat frame line — they subsequently stripped down the bike, overhauled the engine, adjusted the valves, and replaced the gaskets, oil and filters. A new loop was added to the rear, a smaller battery added under the seat, Motogadget m-Lock ignition installed, and the rectifier replaced. On the console, the grips, lever and head and taillights replaced, but the original speedometer and suspension were kept. A custom seat was constructed using washed leather from Swedish tannery Tärnsjö and mounted on an aluminum subframe, and the motorcycle finished with a vibrant green paint job on the tank.
