A few months after landing placements as a collaborator and musician on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, LA virtuoso Thundercat has announced a new mini-album and shared the project’s first single. “Them Changes” serves as our first taste of what to expect with Thundercat’s The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam, which is set to arrive on June 22 via Brainfeeder Records. Thundercat’s new single is co-produced by Flying Lotus and Kamasi Washington, two equally-talented artists who have worked with Thundercat many, many times in the past and also worked on Kendrick Lamar’s recent LP. The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam will feature six, all-new songs from Thundercat, including three tracks co-produced by Flying Lotus, a collaboration with Herbie Hancock and appearances by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Mono/Poly. You can give Them Changes” a spin above.
