Palace, not unlike forward-thinking brands before it, revamps the model of a skateboarding company
Palace, not unlike forward-thinking brands before it, revamps the model of a skateboarding company by encouraging its riders to produce not only on the board, but off of it. New York-based Palace skater Shawn Powers has been steadily producing footage – last prominently featured in March’s TRUST – yet also has been garnering attention for his offbeat, outsider-influenced brand of art and illustration. Teaming up with James Edson, here the two will show off new work at Edson’s Wayward Gallery tonight beginning at 6pm GMT. The show, dubbed “Disposing of My Disposables,” is meant to represent a transition for both artists, who both were initially inspired by skateboarding but have since drawn inspiration from new ideas. Hear from the artists themselves in the above video, then if in the London area, be sure to stop by The Wayward Gallery.
