Google's Self-Driving Vehicle Prototypes Get the Green Light
The ever-progressive minds at Google are preparing to launch the next step in automotive design
The ever-progressive minds at Google are preparing to launch the next step in automotive design with their Self-Driving Car project. After publicly testing prototypes toward the end of last year, here Google has announced that it will bring a few beta vehicles from the test track to the streets of Mountain View, California. Google has rigorously tested the car through various road conditions over the past couple of months, most recently logging about 10,000 miles a week. Over the course of the summer, the self-driving vehicles will drive at a top speed of about 25mph, with safety drivers on-board to oversee driving if need be.
