Japan-based architecture firm y+M have constructed the “Slide House,” a residential property designed to maximize the views of the neighboring inland sea. Located at the bottom of Mount Rokko in the Hyogo prefecture, the building’s reinforced concrete structure is embedded in the surrounding natural environment ensuring a minimal footprint. The unique front façade is made up of box-like frames fills the space with ample amounts of sunlight, while the terraces offer an area for outdoor relaxation with a beautiful view of the landscape. A spiral staircase connects the three levels starting with the three-car parking lot on ground level, children’s rooms on the second floor, and dining and living areas on the second floor complete with a traditional Japanese tatami room.
