The Recording Industry Association of America has just certified the Beastie Boys‘ debut album Licensed to Ill, Diamond. That’s 10 million copies sold, a huge feat for any recording artist these days. 1986 classic now becomes the seventh hip-hop album to ever reach this milestone and, the first hip-hop album one from the 80s to reach as well. And in case you were wondering, the other six albums were:

Outkast – Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (11.4 million)
Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP (11 million)
Eminem – The Eminem Show (10.3 million)
The Notorious B.I.G. – Life After Death (10.2 million),
MC Hammer – Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em (10 million),
2Pac – All Eyez on Me (10 million)
