UPDATE: Artists Revok, Reyes and Steel are Suing Roberto Cavalli for Copyright Infringement
Italian fashion label Roberto Cavalli is being sued by artists Revok, Reyes and Steel for copyright
Italian fashion label Roberto Cavalli is being sued by artists Revok, Reyes and Steel for copyright infringement. The three artists contend that the designer’s Just Cavalli label copied the artwork from the trio’s mural in San Francisco’s Mission District (previously covered here), defaced it by manipulating different elements of the work, and created the impression that it was an original work by Cavalli by adding the designer’s signature. The artists are asking that the label admit its wrongdoing and hand over all profits from the collection. Read more on the lawsuit here.
UPDATE: A California federal judge has ruled in favor of Revok, Reyes and Steel regarding Cavalli apparel sold at Amazon and Nordstrom. An exercept of the developments can be seen at Law 360 (paygated).
