AIAIAI is launching a campaign titled “Real Booty Music,” born from the idea of turning a dancer’s booty shaking into playable music. The project acts as a collaboration of sorts combining the talents of Branko from Buraka Som Sistema, the Dutch design and technology company OWOW, and dancer Twerk Queen Louise. By attaching a ‘booty drum recorder’ onto each cheek, movements were captured and repurposed into a beat. The end result was named “Cascavel” and is an example of what happens when science meets gyration.
