It’s been difficult to keep pace with adidas lately, and it’s also hard to ignore that the brand’s recent partnership with Kanye West has concreted a new, fashion-forward direction for the German brand. adidas has chosen its recently-unveiled Ultra BOOST silhouette as a flagship of sorts, and has employed five of today’s most prominent designers to re-imagine the shoe for a new capsule collection: Ultra BOOST Collective. Kris Van Assche, Stella McCartney and Junichi Abe (the designer behind Japanese contemporary label kolor), as well as in-house creative directors Dirk Schönberger and James Carnes, have each been tapped to reiterate the Ultra BOOST according to their personal styles. As seen from the preview above, these range from all-over argyle print to a minimal, whited-out version – each of which are set to roll out beginning in May 2015. With accompanying launch events in Berlin, Tokyo, London and Paris confirmed, be on the lookout for more news about the Ultra BOOST Collective as it arrives.
