Volvo Wants You to Catch up on TV While Your Car Drives Itself
In the near future, you’ll wish your commute was longer.
With Tesla and Google leading the drive (pun intended) for autonomous vehicles, Volvo has also decided to join the fray with the unveiling of its Concept 26 initiative. Conceived around the idea of making your commute more productive and meaningful by giving you the choice between manual driving or freeing up that time for working or relaxing, Concept 26 offers three modes: Drive, Create and Relax. The execution is unfailingly slick — when “delegated driving” is activated, the steering wheel retracts into the dashboard, a large entertainment screen reveals itself, and the driver’s seat reclines for a lounge-like setup. With the luxury of extra free time, you might just hop in your car one day in the future and command it to extend the length of your commute. Enjoy the video above.
