Gosha Rubchinskiy Shares New Portrait Photography

i-D recently caught up with Gosha Rubchinskiy before his latest art exhibition at Berlin’s 032c to discuss everything from the showing of his third collection back in 2009 (the multi-disciplinary designer’s first time outside of Russia), to how he approaches design, to his groundbreaking reputation as the one to divert the fashion industry’s attention to Russia. Largely regarded as the new voice of Russia’s youth, all eyes are on Gosha. Having recently released a photography volume through Dover Street Market titled, Youth Hotel, the fashion-photography wunderkind continues to discuss the influence of youth culture and how its motivations and progressions will continue to drive his work. In addition, Gosha discusses his ties to skate culture and explains the sentiment behind his recent comparison of a Chanel dress to a Supreme hoodie.
