It is no secret that Gucci Mane has faced a series of troubles within recent months. From a high-profile public “breakdown” that brought us an awkward mall fight video to newly-acquired gun possession charges, the 1017 boss has had some struggles to say the least. As far as his newest issues with the law go, Gucci and his fans can rest a little easier knowing there’s now a resolution to his legal matters.
According to TMZ, earlier today the 34-year-old rapper copped a plea deal in his most recent gun possession case, and under the plea deal’s terms will remain behind bars until 2016. The original charge carries a maximum jail stay of 10 years, however under the plea deal arranged with prosecutors Gucci will only have to serve 39 months. It’s bittersweet news, considering the amount of time he could have faced and how a decade-long bid would have greatly hampered his career. Considering Gucci’s past handling of similar situations, under this new three-year deal these next few years will still probably continue to yield plenty of music from the down-south veteran. If Boosie can bounce back after a few years, we’re sure Gucci can too.
