Japanese furniture design firm h220430 revisits Le Ballon Rouge with its latest piece. Inpsired by the 1953 French fantasy featurette, which stars a young boy who is taken on an adventure by a large sentient balloon, the Balloon Chair is a leather and steel chair that appears to levitate. The chair is actually fixed to the wall and the balloons themselves aren’t functional, but that doesn’t detract from the whimsical nature of the piece. The chair is set to make its debut at Milano Fuori Salone next week. For more work from h220430, visit the website here.
