English rock band The Libertines announce today that they’ve signed a record deal with Virgin EMI and are planning to release their third studio album with them next year. Their last album was released over ten years ago, and the band has been in and out of hiatus since. The new deal was signed in Thailand, where co-frontman Pete Doherty is currently going to rehab for his recurring drug issues. Upon this, Doherty exclaims, “I don’t know what to say, I’m so happy. It was a beautiful day.” His co-frontman Carl Barât, added to this: “After everything we have been through The Albion sails on course again, I couldn’t be more excited.” Definitely keep an eye out for this one.
