Earlier this year, it was announced that three high-ranking senior designers at Nike would make the move to their rivals adidas. The blockbuster move raised eyebrows industry-wide as discussion heated up in regards to the potential shift in talent as well as further igniting the battle of sportswear supremacy. News has surfaced that Nike is well on its way to suing the trio, of Marc Dolce, Mark Miner and Senior Design Director Denis Dekovic. Many of the proposed ideas suggested by the trio are in line with Nike’s current structure including a proposed design studio modeled after Nike’s own “The Kitchen.” Some other allegations include that sensitive materials were copied off work computers (including an unreleased shoe made for a Nike sponsored athlete), the removal of sensitive work emails and text messages and the understanding that forthcoming Nike plans were shared with adidas despite the three still being employed by Nike. There was also the further notion that adidas were fully prepared to pay for any and all legal issues that would stem from their moved. Stay tuned for more details as they arise.
