Specifically, the brand’s team traveled north of Santa Barbara, stumbling upon the magical rolling hills of Orchid Ranch. The prestigious, though now-abandoned ranch, once owned by oil tycoon Samuel Mosher, played the backdrop for Matix’s range of constructed street essentials. The brand made use of rugged materials such as corduroy, canvas, thick knit cotton and denim – work-ready materials that, when applied as such to jackets, button-ups, and reinforced trousers, have become synonymous a certain ‘California-Americana’ aesthetic.
