Earlier this year Cookin’ Soul’s Soulmatic paid homage to Nas’s hip-hop classic, Illmatic, and today they’ve decided to provide a mixtape of the instrumentals from their rework project. According to the DJ duo their idea for the original compilation was not just to remix Illmatic, but also to give listeners an in-depth look into the state of mind that led to creating Nas’s influential hip-hop album.
