Taking a step back from the use of loud prints and bright hues — think botanical patterns, birds and palm trees — Alexandre Mattiussi of AMI took the runway at Paris’s Palais de Tokyo to debut the label’s 2014 fall/winter collection. Looking to subdued color schemes and traditional fabrics in its tailoring, the collection was pieced together by classic menswear staples, with two-piece suits atop button-up shirts, waist coats and luxurious knitwear. Heavy jackets and parkas were designed with modern updates, while polka dots, pinstripes and plaid patterns were peppered throughout. Rounded out by an athletic footwear range that served as a casual counterpoint, AMI’s latest collection was full of strong looks for the upcoming season.
