Renowned for public arts projects in the United States such as Sacramento Airport’s “Leap” and “I See What You Mean” in Denver, American sculptor Lawrence Argent took his talents eastward for a new project with AllRightsReserved. Dubbed “I AM HERE,” the 15-meter panda sculpture hangs at the side of the Chengdu IFS in Chendu’s metropolitan center. It is meant to raise awareness about the dwindling population of pandas, an important cultural animal to Chinese culture. In support of this, AllRightsReserved brought together to world’s tastemakers – including Pharrell Williams and Yohji Yamamoto – to design their very own panda sculptures for an auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda. Check out the video to see how the massive piece was assembled and installed.
