A lesson often learned the hard way, many urbanites know that skating or bicycling in congested areas of traffic can be unnerving, hazardous even. Frustrated by his experiences of fighting motor traffic, New York City-based designer Mike Cherman started ICNY, an apparel brand inspired by the reflection of light against 3M reflective material. To highlight the brand’s offerings, Cherman tapped director Vanessa Black to produce “Dark Nights, Bright Lights” – a two-minute flux of intense, 3M-enhanced eye candy. Combining skateboarding, bicycling, and the nighttime Brooklyn landscape with ICNY’s bright new offerings, the video does well to hype up Cherman’s new label, which arrives in stores on September 15.
