With a thematic inspiration of “evolution,” Berluti presents its Fall/Winter 2013 lookbook. Creative director Alessandro Sartori’s latest designs – Berluti’s third foray into menswear – emphasize genealogy as the designer looked into the label’s past to see where it could move into the future: thus, two elements combine to create a third, entirely new component. Traditional materials and construction techniques have been combined in a variety of innovative ways to create a range of unique looks: leathers appear like waxed cottons thanks to washing techniques and abrasive applications, nubuck has been aged in at least nine different process for a beautiful patina, cashmere has been punched with angora, and soft alpaca has been further enriched. All of these combine on similarly hybridized silhouettes as sportswear and high-end menswear unite for interpretations of classic suiting, biker-style jackets and more.
