Watch R. Kelly Performing with Phoenix at Coachella

Albeit the rumor that Phoenix would bring out fellow French musicians Daft Punk during their headlining set at Coachella last night, it was R. Kelly who surprised the attending audience with his stage energy. As the band started playing Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’s “1901,” the R&B icon appeared to sing his single “Ignition.” Phoenix then switched to “Chloroform” off of their forthcoming album, Bankrupt!, while Kelly provided matching verses from “I’m a Flirt,” the first single from 2007’s Double Up, only to wrap things up by returning to “Ignition.” Bankrupt! is due April 23 via Loyaute/Glassnote.
