Gary Baseman "The Door is Always Open" @ The Skirball Cultural Center Preview

Born and based in Los Angeles, Gary Baseman‘s work as an artist, illustrator, animator and, most famously, as a pioneer of art toys is currently on display at the Skirball Cultural Center. “The Door Is Always Open” features paintings, photographs, textiles, toys, statues, sketchbooks, and videos by Baseman that highlight his quirky design ethos and are presented inside surroundings inspired by his home in Fairfax as well as his Jewish heritage. Those interested in dropping by can do so until August 18 while those who are interested in related talks and other events by the artist can find out more by visiting the Skirball Cultural Center’s website.
