Thrasher "Escape From SOTY Island" Video

When you put Geoff Rowley, Grant Taylor and David Gonzalez on the same trip, there’s a pretty good chance of mind-blowing skateboarding pending. Such was the case when Thrasher Magazine took some of Volcom’s heavy hitters (three of which have already won Skater of The Year) on a trip through the concrete waves of Hawaii. While many questioned Thrasher editor-in-chief Jake Phelps in his decision to deem David Gonzalez this year’s S.O.T.Y. recipient, there’s certainly a counterargument presented in this clip; Gonzales fits right there with Grant Taylor (who arguably steals the show in this one) and the rest of the canon. A combination of street skating and straight bowl shredding, “Escape From SOTY Island” is a great way to kick off this spring weekend. Colin Provost, Pedro Barros and “little”-no-more Louie Lopez are also featured in the clip.
