Have you ever heard of the Mountain Brothers? Maybe, maybe not? No worries, here’s the scoop. Once upon a time there was a rap trio from Philly who became cultural pioneers when they became the first Asian-American hip-hop group to sign to a major label (Ruff House/Sony Music) back in the late ’90s. During that time, they released two critically acclaimed albums and essentially paved way and spawned a new generation of Asian-american artists. Many of which appear on this new Kickstarter funded album titled Strength in Numbers that highlights some of the best established & aspiring Asian American & International music artists around. We’re premiering an exclusive cut the project from Chops of Mountain Brothers and DJ Neil Armstrong featuring Kiwi, Ruby Ibarra, and Ann one. However, this just serves as one song from the album, and for the actual project to release, they’re trying to reach their goal with about 4 days to go. Check out the song below and if you’re down to support the cause, head over to the official Strength in Numbers Kickstarter page for more details, enjoy.
