Banksy has revealed the latest piece in his ongoing “Better Out Than In” project in New York: the Dance of Death. The piece is a recreation of the Grim Reaper seated in a bumper car — an interesting juxtaposition between the serious topic of death and the playfulness of fairground rides. Whether the artist intended for it to serve as a reminder of the ultimately unyielding nature of death, or just wanted to play around with a typical Halloween motif in the build-up to October 31 is for the viewer to decide. The piece is currently on display at Houston Street.
