Like most creative endeavors, fashion is completely subjective. It’s rare that a brand enjoys near-universal acclaim, and if it does, it’s the result of hard work, late nights and collaborative imagination. Paris-based brand Kenzo enjoyed such praise at this year’s Pitti Immagine in Florence, undoubtedly due to the hard work of its creative management team. Creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim explored fashion’s playful potential in the latest release from the brand, summarizing their inspirations and goals in a short video clip, entitled “Above the Sky and Beyond.” The clip does well to capture the exciting rush of design, all the while contrasted against Leon and Lim’s collected soliloquies.
