In the first installment of a two-part video series on Shepard Fairey and the OBEY Awareness – Jail
In the first installment of a two-part video series on Shepard Fairey and the OBEY Awareness – Jail Guitar Doors USA project – the OBEY founder, artist and designer sits down with Wayne Kramer, formerly of MC5 – a band once featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. Implemented as a program that lets inmates pursue their musical interests as a kind of rehabilitation, the Jail Guitar Doors USA project is a non-profit charity aimed at easing the transitions of inmates back to the outside world. Watch as Kramer, who himself was imprisoned, speaks about his own experiences leading up to jail time and how music personally helped him turn his life around.
