As previewed earlier, Jun Takahashi will end his short-lived collaboration in style with the soon-to-released UNDERCOVER for Uniqlo, or “UU,” final collection campaign. Drawing on Takahashi’s post-modern UNDERCOVER design tendencies, this Uniqlo collaboration will feature a full range of contemporary garments utilizing and mixing top-notch Uniqlo performance technology and fabrics; the pieces will feature Heat Tech and Ultra Light Down, among other signature Uniqlo innovations. The fall/winter offerings are outerwear-heavy, and will also include a selection of woven shirts, blazers, cardigans and T-shirts, in addition to an array of pant styles.
Again, a typically contemporary and neutral color palette is used throughout, with items primarily in grey, charcoal, black, navy, with brighter hits of wine or burgundy interspersed between them. The unique and idiosyncratic campaign lookbook features a puzzling array of images that include giant insects, musical instruments and white-washed rooms, perhaps hinting at Takahashi’s nature and music-based inspirations for the collection. Look for the final UNDERCOVER for Uniqlo collection to hit stores starting on August 17. As with the previous UNDERCOVER for Uniqlo collaboration, the second segment of the fall/winter collection will release slightly later on.
