As part of the Less Artists More Condos 7” series, Baltimore-based indie pop trio Future Islands has released a brand new song. This track, “Cotton Flower,” maintains the ’80s-inflected, synth-heavy sound that the band has become known for. If you’re a fan of Future Islands, this should serve as a satisfying followup to their popular single, “Balance,” and fall 2011 album, On The Water. “Cotton Flower” will be available on vinyl on July 17 via Famous Class. Sales proceeds will be donated to the Ariel Panero Memorial Fund at VH1′s Save the Music. You can pre-order a 7” here.
