Catering to those with both an extensive experience with photography and deep pockets to support it, luxury camera company Leica treats the professionals in Tokyo with their own retail outlet. Simply named the “Professional Store” and conveniently located above their consumer retail store, Leica Camera AG unveiled the lounge-type studio this Spring to a close-knit community of pros and enthusiasts. Visitors will be delighted to find the flagship model Leica S2 available for demonstration, with all lenses, accessories, tripods, and even gloves for trial – all equipment easily totaling the costs of some high-performance automobiles. Along with the gear, a white backdrop and pro studio lighting is also accessible to fully simulate the camera in a professional studio environment. Extreme high-quality print samples can be found inside the lounge and in the hallway, while behind-the-scenes manufacturing prints are also on display for the curious. Finally for those with a slightly smaller bank account, the M9 rangefinder and X1 digital compact are also available to test.
