Reinterpreting the classic “Mademoiselle Chairs” from storied designer Philippe Starck, Lenny Kravitz welcomes the title of interior furniture designer to his resume with the help of Kartell. Unveiled at the 2012 Milan Furniture Fair, the Mademoiselle Chairs for Kartell arrive in a six-piece reinterpretation of the original Starck-minted armchairs. For his part, Kravitz draped each chair in an amalgam of exotic textiles that include rock-inspired furs, leathers, wovens and python skins. The project developed out of a mutual understanding and respect for each creative’s respective work as well as a longstanding friendship between the designer and musician.
