The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt was launched on the 21st of February in London, featuring 209 super-sized Easter eggs of unique design spread across the city with works by various artists, architects, jewelers and designers. Thirty-one of these masterpieces go to live auction today, while the remaining eggs will sell online at The Big Egg Auction. All auction proceeds have been dedicated to the charities Action for Children and Elephant Family. Among the 31, Zaha Hadid‘s “Dichotomy” is a current favorite. The renown architect’s egg is a celebration of organic simplicity and mechanical fluidity – the enlarged epitome of a perfectly dichotomized metallic urban egg shell.
